When Nathan was learning to feed himself, as soon as he started making any kind of mess, we cleaned it up. We were not into messes. Now with Mary Beth, most of the time we couldn't be bothered and just let her do her own thing... to a certain extent. The kids were enjoying some Dunderoos (yes, not a very healthy snack, I know) and I leave the room for 30 seconds and this is what I come back to.
Mary Beth prefers to wear the icing rather then eat it.
Same goes with jam.
Makes for beautiful concealer, don't you think?
Our face cloths get lots of use :)
