Winter Beauty

After our "storm of the year" on Friday we were left with about 10 inches of snow.  Saturday morning was absolutely gorgeous!  I love the look of a white blanket that has yet to be disturbed by quad tracks.

And as usual, Nathan did not want to go outside like his sister, but I made them and it ended up being Mary Beth who was begging to go back in.  Maybe if she would wear her mittens her hands wouldn't have been so cold!

Even Samson got in on the fun! I think he got a little cold with Nathan shoveling snow on him :)
Bandit preferred to just lay in the cleared driveway.

The highlight for the kids was making a snowman.  The snow wasn't quite packing material so instead we found big clumps made by the tractor and stacked them to make a snowman.  It worked!  2 stones for eyes, a pinecone for a nose and a "u"shaped branch for a mouth and the face was complete.  He has 2 branches of weeds for arms but you can't see them :)  An hour or so later he was wearing some yellow pants thanks to Bandit.

It's sad to look out the window now and see that the snow is melting :( The current temperature is 5* Celsius.
