Mexico

Here's just a few (yes, I took a couple hundred pictures!) pictures of our week away to the sunny south. I'm sure you've been wanting to see these Aunt Miranda :)
Waiting in the airport in Toronto for our plane.
Flying over New Orleans
On the bus taking us to our resort (hour and a half from Cancun).
Road sign for our resort.
A shot of one of the buildings... very modern architecture.
Our room for the week.
On the balcony for the buffet restaurant, where we ate breakfast and sometimes lunch and supper.
First morning

A view of one of 2 beach areas. The second was further to the right, which is where we hung out usually.

The sky, the ocean, the rocks and the sand... so gorgeous!

One of 3 pools.
We didn't go in any of the pools the whole time... the ocean was much nicer!
We went on an excursion on the Monday to see some of the temple ruins in Coba. This particular area was totally covered by jungle only 17 years ago.
The tallest temple ruins.
It was a scary climb up and an even scarier climb down! People have been killed trying to climb up/down/

After seeing the temple ruins we went to do some "fun" activities.
We canoed (our guide Poncho came with us).
He was an awesome guide!
There were 2 crocodiles hanging out in the water over which we zip-lined. The 2nd one is at the very bottom hiding among the lily pads.
Chris zip line-ing.
My turn :)
Repelling into an underwater cavern.
Down we go.
Hanging out in the tubes.
Getting hoisted back up.

We borrowed my sister's camera that can go underwater so we could take some pictures snorkeling.
It was pretty amazing to see all the fish and coral.

We went for a Japanese supper our last night at the resort. It was very interesting to try sushi :P
Supper was good though :)

There were lots of komodo dragon lizards and iguanas on the resort when the sun came out.

All too soon we were back at the airport, waiting an extra 2 hours for our delayed plane to go home.
The view of Cancun from the plane was amazing!

Thanks for posting! 4 more sleeps and we will get to experience this too - maybe not the zip lining or the 1 1/2 hour bus ride, but the sun and someone else cooking meals will be good for me!
Looking forward to getting to see your pictures when we get back.
