Mary Beth is 8

On January 6, we celebrated the 8th birthday of our Mary Beth. It's hard to believe my first born daughter is now 8 years old (even harder to believe my oldest is reaching double digits next month :O)
Most of the Naves family came over in the morning for cake and coffee.

The day before her birthday we had a party with 4 friends from school over.  It was a nice way to end Christmas break. We had hoped to go sledding on the hill but it was REALLY cold that day (-28*C) so the girls went out to the barn for a quick tour. Mary Beth ended up going down the hill a couple of times with one friend, Meghan, but she wiped out the second time and hurt her back and got a bloody nose :(  Not so fun to have happen at your own birthday party.

Mary Beth is obsessed with horses, even though she's only been up close to one once.  Her bedroom is covered in drawings and colouring pages of horses.  She is hoping that when we eventually move, it will be to a horse farm :P
Mary Beth is a very good student, doing very well in all subjects.  She could probably do even better if she wasn't such a social butterfly.  While she has had some difficulty in the past with the girls she sits with on the bus, Mary Beth is generally friends with everyone. And while it's hard to see her struggle with those couple of girls, I try to remind her to always be kind to everyone despite how they may treat her.
I love to see how she is quick to profess her love for the Lord. It is our prayer that she will learn daily her need for a new heart and that she will seek Him while she is young.
